National Creativity Collaboratives meeting: Birmingham 12.03.2026
On Thursday 12th March, Becky Jackson, Lisa Hall and Helen Hunter travelled to Birmingham to attend a national gathering of Creativity Collaboratives. The event offered a valuable opportunity to connect with creativity leads from across the country, enabling the exchange of insights and effective practice.
The morning began with each participant sharing a ‘sweet moment’—a recent success or particularly positive experience within their collaborative. These reflections were then explored in greater depth through small-group discussions, where attendees considered both the challenges faced and the achievements realised. This created a supportive space for sharing experiences and learning from one another.
The afternoon session was led by the programme’s evaluator, Abi D’Amore, who facilitated a practical workshop focused on identifying levels of immersion in teaching for creativity. This prompted thoughtful and engaging discussions around the distinctions and connections between teaching for creativity and creative teaching.
Overall, the day provided an inspiring platform for collaboration, reflection and forward-looking dialogue, reinforcing the importance of embedding creative approaches within teaching and learning.
