On Monday 20th April, the Year 2 teaching team and learning support assistants visited Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre for a day of professional development. This visit marks the beginning of our involvement in The Children as Storytellers project. The aim of the project is to develop teachers’ confidence and skill in teaching through drama, drawing on authentic Globe practice. In turn, this work will provide rich opportunities for pupils to strengthen their oracy, confidence, reading and writing.

On Thursday 26th March, we hosted our fourth North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) day of the academic year at Hoults Yard. The event brought together Science Curriculum Leads from a range of schools for a highly engaging and productive day focused on Creativity in Science.

On Thursday 12th March, Becky Jackson, Lisa Hall and Helen Hunter travelled to Birmingham to attend a national gathering of Creativity Collaboratives. The event offered a valuable opportunity to connect with creativity leads from across the country, enabling the exchange of insights and effective practice.

On Thursday 22^nd January we held our third North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) day of this academic year at Cragside Primary School.  It was wonderful to be back in school and have the opportunity to see the children in demonstrating their creativity in lessons. The focus of the day was Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

On Thursday 27^th November we hosted our second North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) day of this academic year at Hoults Yard.  It was wonderful to have the NEPI schools back in the room again. The focus of the day was Well-being.

We were delighted to begin the second year of North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) at Hoults Yard on 25^th September 2025. The focus of the day was Creativity in Practice.

On 23^rd January we hosted the third meeting of North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) at Cragside Primary School.

The focus of the day was authentic oracy.

On 28^th November we hosted the second meeting of North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) at Cragside Primary School.  It was wonderful to have all of the NEPI schools back in the room again. The focus of the day was Curriculum Matters. 

We were thrilled to host the first meeting of North East Primary Innovators (NEPI) at Cragside Primary School on 17^th October 2024. The focus of the day was The Balancing Act: what works in teaching reading and writing.
